Photo's of Varna in Bulgaria and the surrounding area are now uploaded to Flickr. This includes photo's of the Stone Forest which is about 11 miles West of Varna. Spread over a barren landscape, the Stone Forest is a collection of tree-like stone columns, some as high as 20ft. The stones are believed to be 50 million years old and, whilst several theories have been offered, it is generally agreed that they formed when separate layers of chalk merged through a layer of sand.
